Imam Mahdi (as) is the last in the chain of Imams as per the belief of the Twelver Shias. He is the twelfth Imam from the lineage of Hazrat Fatema Zahra (sa), the daughter of the Holy Prophet of Islam (as). Imam Mahdi (as) was born on the 15th day of the Islamic month of Shabaan in the year 255 AH.
The Shiah and Ahle Sunnah, both reported traditions about Imam Mahdi (as). These traditions encompass a wdie spectrum of topics including his existence, his birth, aspects regarding his long life and occultation and even the condition of society during this period.
